What is Korean Fried Chicken (KFC) or Yangnyeong Chicken?
Korean fried chicken, which is also called KFC(Not Kentucky Fried Chicken), is a popular dish in Korean culture that has gained massive fame worldwide in these recent years. It is mostly popular in teenagers as the taste suites their young taste palates. People make this dish by deep-frying the chicken twice, resulting in a extra crunchy and crispy texture that is coated in a sweet and spicy sauce.
Origin Of Korean Fried Chicken (KFC) or Yangnyeong Chicken
Korean Fried chicken also called Yangneyong Chicken by the Koreans is a popular Korean Non Vegiterian Chicken dish that consists of deep-fried chicken pieces coated in a sweet and spicy sauce. This dish was originated in 1960s when the Korean War just ended and the American Soldiers took some fried chicken from Korea to their country.

Ingredients :
- Chicken Leg Piece

- Black Pepper
- Potato Starch
- Whole wheat flour or All Purpose flour
- Baking Soda
- Egg
- Oil
- Garlic
- Tomato Ketchup
- Rice Syrup
- Vinegar
- Hot Pepper Paste (Gochujang)
- Sesame Seed
Procedure :
- Firstly, season your chicken with 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, half cup of potato starch, quarter cup of wheat flour or all purpose flour and 2 eggs.
- Now mix it well with your hands.
- After mixing it, heat the oil to 330 °F or 165 °C and cook your chicken.
- Make sure that your chicken doesn't stick to one another using your thongs.
- When the chicken is being fried, take 4 cloves of garlic and chop it into small pieces.
- Now heat a pan and add cooking oil to it. Add the chopped garlic and add 1/3 cup of ketchup.
- Stir the mixture and add the same amount of rice syrup as the ketchup.
- Add 2 teaspoons of vinegar and for the spiciness, add 1/4 cup of chilli pepper paste(gochujang).
- Now remove the chicken from the oil when it is golden brown.
- Let it rest for 1 to 5 minutes and again add it in the same oil for 12 minutes.
- Remove it after 12 minutes and coat it with the sauce until it is fully covered.
- Finally, add the sesame seeds and your chicken is ready.
- You can now try Korean Fried Chicken with rice, Korean Fried Chicken with cheese, Korean Fried Chicken with beer or just Korean Fried Chicken as per your taste.
